Caregivers often face periods of panic and fear. At such times, it is necessary to remember one’s past experiences and realize that this too shall pass.
In the last online support group meeting caregivers and well-wishers came together to share their current fears. After each one expressed what they were feeling, they were asked to recollect an incident during which they experienced intense fear.
Everyone took turns to narrate their stories where they felt helpless and scared. During introspection, they also discussed a positive outcome of that particular situation.
Participants felt it was a unique experience where they realized the importance of understanding their emotions, practicing self-care, reaching out for support and how gratitude can help one stay calm.
